As you all know by now, last Sunday, October 7th, the Lord called home one of his choice servants, Dr. Bill Pruett.

This past Friday evening we had a lovely visitation at Rock Valley Chapel that was packed with well-wishers lasting well past its original 8:00 PM scheduled finish. We then celebrated Dr. Bill and his Savior, Jesus, at a moving and glorious funeral service that also lasted much longer than usual. It was perhaps the longest service I have ever conducted as many family and friends took the time to offer sensational testimonies of Dr. Bill’s medical ministry and Christian life.

The Graveside service held at East Lawn was really quite a treasure. I shared two stories about Dr. Bill that produced glorious laughter and a touch of awe as the Lord had revealed to this church in two different ways that He was getting ready to change Dr. Bill’s address. It was, quite frankly, a celebration.

What will people say about you at your funeral? What would you like them to say? Here’s a better question…what do you think Jesus would want people to say about you at your funeral? Ponder that for a moment…

Wouldn’t we all love to know that people will say we loved Jesus, His Gospel and that we freely told others about the deep, rich truths of the Gospel? Do you agree with that? If so, let’s get on our knees and beg God to give us opportunities to share the Gospel and in so doing live a fulfilling life that is rewarded best with those opportunities God gives us to fulfill the Great Commission.

Then, at the end, the Lord will say to us all: “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Joining you in celebrating Dr. Bill’s life, and learning to live more for Christ and less for myself;

Rescued by Christ,
Pastor Tim
