The following statements represent our core beliefs and are embedded in our Constitution.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Scripture
We believe the Bible to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21
God
We believe that there is one true, Holy God, creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 8:6
Jesus Christ
We believe in the humanity and the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38. We believe in His sinless life and in His miracles. John 10:37-38; Acts 2:22; Hebrews 4:15. We believe in His death for sin. Romans 5:6-10. We believe in His bodily resurrection, ascension, intercessory priesthood and personal return in power and glory. Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; Hebrews 7:25
Holy Spirit
We believe in the ministry of the person of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling and empowering of the believers enables them to live godly lives and uniquely endows each believer with gifts for the upbuilding of the body. John 14:15-17; John 16:7,8,13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Galatians 5:22-23
Salvation
We believe man, though created in the image of God, fell into sin and was lost. Man’s salvation is by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:26-27; Isaiah 53:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12-13; John 3:16-18; Romans 3:23; Romans 10:9-13; Titus 3:5
Church
We believe the true Church is composed of all born-again persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. Only those who are members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church. John 17:20-23; Ephesians 1:11-14; Ephesians 4:1-17; Colossians 1:18.
Ordinances
Upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ, we believe in baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as testimony to identification with Jesus Christ. Romans 6:3-5. We believe in the observance of Holy Communion as a remembrance of the sacrificial death of Christ. These ordinances, however, are not to be regarded as means of salvation. Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
End Times
We believe in the personal, premillennial and imminent appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. John 14:3; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 3:10; Matthew 24:36,44; I Thessalonians 5:1-3; II Peter 3:10; Titus 2:12-13.
Judgement
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord in Heaven, and of the unbeliever to judgement, eternal separation from God and everlasting conscious punishment in Hell. Matthew 25:46; Acts 24:15; Romans 14:10-12; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11-15
Satan
We recognize the reality of Satan, his power and influence in the world today and his ultimate and final defeat and eternal punishment in the lake of fire. Job 1:6-12; Ephesians 2:1-2; Ephesians 6:10-12; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 20:10
Marriage
We believe that marriage is a typology of Christ and the Church and that marriage has been ordained by God to be the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in a lifetime commitment. Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:27; Ephesians 5:31-32.
