The philosophy behind our Jr/Sr High School youth program is straightforward: to prepare students to live out their faith as adults and share the gospel. To do this we take a three-pronged approach: instruction, integration, and mentorship.
YOUTH MINISTRY
We are prayerfully seeking to replace our Youth Leader and ask you to join us in prayer. In the interim, God has blessed us with many willing and capable hands within our body to help us lead the Youth Ministry while we prepare, seek and wait on the Lord.
INTEGRATION: Working Within the Church
We don’t believe in keeping the youth in their own silo. The more that a student is involved in the life of the church, the more they will understand how the people work together for the success of the Gospel. Therefore, they are encouraged to participate in the life of the church. Some of our students help in the nursery. Others participate on the worship team, while their classmates help run the soundboard. Still others volunteer to help with our children’s ministry through the AWANA and VBS programs.
MENTORSHIP: Doing Church with Others
‘Doing Church’ is a multi-generational venture. We are called to work together to promote the Gospel and to support one another in our lives. We try to encourage all of our members to surround the youth and be an active support network as designated mentors. The goal is for each youth to have three adult mentors from within the walls of the church to give support outside them.
INSTRUCTION: Sunday School & Wednesday Night Youth Group
Sunday School begins at 9 am every week. This is one hour of basic training where we engage Scripture directly in order to understand the intent of the author and the application we can take from the text
Wednesday Night Youth Group, beginning at 6:30 pm, is dedicated to addressing real world issues through Scripture and preparation for interaction with others within their community.
