FROM KEVIN SHEDD:

What a joy it is to have our missionaries come and preach. It is so valuable to hear the gospel from our people in the mission field, and Carl is such a fantastic preacher!

Carl told me that one saint brought up that while we’re preaching to someone, and they are not responding; God is still teaching US something. Another saint stated that God will faithfully leave a witness in that same circumstance. What wonderful reminders that God is at work with us in the mission field.

I was personally encouraged by Carl’s remarks on the number of years that it took for some of the prisoners to come to Christ. At times, it can feel like we are not getting anywhere with our evangelism, whether to our family, friends, or our neighbors. Always remember from Isaiah 6:3, “Holy is the Lord Almighty, the whole earth is full of his glory.” We are never evangelizing alone, God is always with us, working.

I heard one saint state that it really hit him hard when Carl discussed that when God asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah didn’t make excuses or try to fit God into his day to day schedule but stated: “Here am I. Send me!”

This is the final plug for RoRo Expo this weekend. This is a fantastic, two-day opportunity to practice what Carl was preaching this Sunday. If this doesn’t work for you, Carl and Kathy have some great opportunities coming up to share with them in the prisons.

We are a church that prays and shares the gospel. Look for any opportunity to reach others with the joy that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, be it at RoRo, in a prison, at work, or at the dinner table.

In Christ,

Kevin Shedd
