FROM PASTOR TIM JOHNSON:

It was good to be back with you all this past Sunday. Once again, thanks to Peter for covering the pulpit while Kathryn and I attended the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches’ (FEBC) Annual Meeting.

There are two items I would like to bring up from the meeting that influence our congregation.

First, at the Annual Meeting, the FEBC took an offering from each of the churches to help fund missionaries the FEBC supports in Brazil who have a Christian radio ministry. I read up on it a bit at the meeting and they are a legitimate group that needs to upgrade their facilities.

It would be nice if RVC helped this project as a new member church. On Sunday, August 7th, we will have a God’s Works offering as our second offering that will go to the FEBC to help fund this project. Please prayerfully consider how you might give to that God’s works offering.

Second, the FEBC sends out a bi-monthly newsletter to each person in the various congregations of the FEBC free of charge. We will ask for 30 copies of their next one and have them at church for you to review. If you do not want to receive them going forward, you can let us know and we will not submit your name and address to the FEBC.

It is an exciting time at RVC as we transition into a new season of ministry with a new Fellowship. Our next step is to inform the EFCA and then we will update our website and begin to plan for how to amend the Constitution accordingly. More to follow.

Please continue to pray for wisdom as we seek to be good and faithful members of the FEBC and to fulfill God’s call to fulfill the Great Commission so that one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Lord; to the glory of God the father.

If you have any questions about the FEBC or the process please let me know.

Rescued by Christ,

Pastor Tim
